Personal feedback

WWW:
From my perspectives, the video was well constructed with many cuts and camera movements.
I improved my camera frame during the video for better appearance and look for the viewers. The video was perfectly timed with the music. Furthermore, it was a great choice of music since it communicates how deep can your love be even though he has turned into a monster.

EBI:
There were many faults when making this makeup tutorial. For example, the camera frame later on became inaccurate where it was positioned. The music video would of benefited more if the time lapse was sped up more because it seemed to the audience that it was on normal duration. Another major issue was it had an abrupt ending therefore next time need to end with a conclusion or a summary.

5) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, sound etc.)

In the upcoming videos, i will film and edit with many transitions and position each shot in the most appropriate and accurate place comfortable for the viewer. Due to the abrupt ending in the music video, in the future, i will  end the videos with a smooth ending reflecting on the beginning of the video. Furthermore, for the future videos i will use more than one shot type so it looks as professional as possible.

6) Finally, what have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene to character, narrative and the creation of star personas in film and television?

From the information I've learnt about Mise-en-scene, I've understood that make-up can change the appearance of a character fit to play that exact role. Different connotation and denotations are interpreted from the make up design compared to the character's original face. The setting and props used during the video can reflect the meaning of the video and the audience point of view of the whole concept. This is because the setting can set a different image or reinforce the plot of the filming, What is being communicated?, What is the Music video about? Another key aspect of mise-en-scene is the position or the movement of the actor. For example, in this music video, the main actor is the one contrasting the change of appearance. However, the one applying the make up also contributes as a key actor as she is doing all the movements. This creates an image to the audience of what is being planned or what is going to be shown. The narrative is displayed very clearly as it demonstrates what the narrative concept is about. The props used such as paint, brush and fake blood creates a horror narrative towards the audience.
